音楽的

その音楽のクオリティやセールスからすると最大級の成功を収めたリユニオンといえるTake Thatですが、以前から噂になっていたRobbie Williamsの復帰が現実味を帯びてきた模様。華のあるRobbie Williamsが復帰となれば見栄えは良くなると思うのですが、今のTake Thatにその要素が必要かどうか。個人的には若干疑問がありますが、五人揃うと壮観な感じにはなるのは確かなので限定的な復帰を希望。

いかにもManic Street Preachersなタイトルとジャケットの同アルバムはRichard Edwardsの残した散文が詩に使われている。Steve Albiniのプロデュースで『The Holy Bible』の続編的な内容なのは予想がつくのですが、Richard Edwardsの詩がメロディに乗せ難いのは有名な話で、それを無理やり美しいメロディに乗せていたのが初期のManic Street Preachersだったわけでして、その辺が今のManic Street Preachersとどの様に融合しているかが楽しみ。先行シングルは意図的に発売されず国内盤にはボーナストラック収録予定。

  • Stuart Murdochのソロプロジェクト「God Help the Girl」のフリーダウンロード

一部ではBelle & Sebastianの新作として報道されていた映画「God Help the Girl」のサントラですが、やはりStuart Murdochのソロプロジェクトでした。他にもGod Help the GirlにはSmooshのAsya、Divine ComedyのNeil Hannonが参加し、ほとんどの楽曲のボーカルをthe Go Away Birdsというデュオの女性ボーカルCatherine Iretonが担当しています。
先行シングルの「Come Monday Night」はオフィシャルサイトからフリーダウンロード出来ますのでどうぞ。
